This collection is a representation of a collection I created for my senior thesis at UNC School of the Arts (high school).
The show was my first practice in designing experience: the photographs were hung in vintage gold frames hung by fishing line from the ceiling in a square in the middle of the room, creating an eery, ghost-like effect. Soft, melancholic piano music by Erik Satie played, and lyrics of Gloomy Sunday (Sam M. Lewis) accompanied the work as my artist statement:
"Sunday is gloomy
My hours are slumberless
Dearest the shadows
I live with are numberless
Little white flowers
Will never awaken you
Not where the black coach
Of sorrow has taken you
Angels have no thoughts
Of ever returning you
Would they be angry
If I thought of joining you"
